Contrary to ordinary dreaming, it is explicitly known when lucid that the present state of consciousness is a dream. Adopting this mental model promotes a greater sense of safety and psychological flexibility in patients to produce helpful interactions with inner conflicts represented in dream content that translate to waking behavior. Since lucid dreaming is a natural capacity that can be strengthened through training, psychotherapists can further client growth by integrating lucid dreaming into evidence-based treatments for nightmares and a broad spectrum of mental health conditions.

This asynchronous, online course provides therapists who are new to lucid dreaming therapy a brief overview of lucid dreaming, its applications, and current supporting evidence. You will learn to integrate a simple model of lucid dream training into standard imagery rehearsal therapy without requiring intensive training on part of you or your patients. Case examples will demonstrate this in action to increase your confidence to begin integrating LDT into your practice. Lastly, we will review factors to help you determine whether pursuing further training in LDT is right for you and your patients.

This Scheduled Asynchronous format delivers the course through prerecorded video sessions accompanied by a forum assignment and post-test. It offers a blend of flexibility and structure, with a set timeline for completion. While it does not include real-time interactions, timely feedback and moderated discussions are provided to enrich the learning experience. Participants are required to complete all components by the specified deadlines to progress through the course and earn CE credits.

To receive CE credits, you are expected complete all course requirements within a set timeline between April 28, 2025 to May 31, 2025.
