Mindful Lucid Dreaming

Awaken your ability to lucid dream with science-backed techniques

Rooted in Research. Refined Through Practice.

Drawing upon modern psychological theory, scientific research, and contemplative traditions, this course offers a structured yet experiential approach to lucid dreaming. The material reflects years of practice, teaching, and research—including work developed through training and collaboration with the Lucidity Institute—adapted for an online learning environment.

You’ll gain clarity around the best induction practices while developing tools to best navigate and understand the state.  Rather than treating lucid dreaming as a collection of standalone techniques, the course emphasizes an integrative, memory-based approach that supports continuity across waking and dreaming. Mindfulness meditation is woven throughout to further enhance awareness of your mind’s contents and the conditions under which lucidity naturally arises.

This program covers:
  • A battery for inducing high-quality, transformative lucid dreams that are grounded in scientific theory and experimental evidence.
  • Resolving nightmares and inner conflicts.
  • Lucid dreaming as a platform for ongoing personal growth, shadow work, and self-integration.
  • Tools for improving clarity of cognitions that interfere with or promote lucidity.
  • The application of mindfulness and meditation for enhancing induction and other lucid dreaming techniques.
  • The nature of perception, reality, and the self.
  • Lucid dreaming, death, and transcendence.
  • The Tibetan yogas of dream and sleep.
  • Applying lucidity practices and principles to enhance your waking reality.

Dr. Kristen LaMarca

Kristen LaMarca, PhD is a clinical psychologist, researcher, and longtime lucid dream practitioner whose work bridges scientific research, contemplative practice, and direct experiential learning.

She has practiced lucid dreaming since 2005 and began collaborating with the Lucidity Institute in 2007, later serving as a co-facilitator for their intensive retreats. Through this work, she has supported hundreds of participants in developing sustainable, skillful approaches to lucidity across sleep and waking life.

Kristen has conducted research on lucid dream induction protocols, including the  effects of cholinergic stimulation on lucid dreaming.  Her approach frames lucid dreaming as a memory-based practice rooted in continuity across waking and dreaming life. She emphasizes lucid dreaming is not about fostering control, but rather creativity and connection.

What Students Say

...I am extremely satisfied with the progress made concerning the WILDs I had. I had my first WILD ever, then two more during the course. This was invaluable because I've only been able to reach lucidity from the nonlucid state.
—  Anonymous, 2020 Workshop
...The Mindful Lucid Dreaming workshop is a jewel, an authentic wonder. It contains excellent quality materials.  Kristen's extensive knowledge with subtle and supportive comments will help anyone to flow in the world of lucid dreams. All seekers should live this magnificent experience.

—Gabriel Cachan, Buenos Aires, Argentina
I learned to feel safe and empowered in the shadow zone--and even learned that we can stuff positive things in there, too. I appreciate the many tools for becoming more present and awake, and capable, in both worlds.

—  Gayle Early, LaMesa, CA. USA

"The most credible course by a qualified instructor..."

Paul, an advanced meditator, embarked on the Mindful Lucid Dreaming course in 2021 with remarkable success.

Before joining, Paul averaged only 4 lucid dreams per year. His highest count in any 6-month period awas merely 3 lucid dreams. This translated to roughly a 1% chance of having a lucid dream on any given night. Despite trying courses by well-known instructors like Andrew Holecek, Charlie Morley, Daniel Love, and even reading Stephen LaBerge's books, his progress remained stagnant.

However, within just over two weeks of our training, Paul transformed his lucid dreaming rate to 3-4 lucid dreams per week—that is a 20% chance of lucid dreaming every night! This marks an over 1700% increase in his lucid dreaming capacity!

This course consistently delivers results, with an average increase of around 1100%, comparable to live retreats with the esteemed Lucidity Institute.

So, what's the secret ingredient? The Mindful Lucid Dreaming course is an online adaptation of Dr. LaBerge’s lucid dream induction protocol, refined over four decades of research. Among the powerful tools, the Nightly Experience Log stands out—a structured approach that hones recall, awareness, and a discerning eye towards nuanced dimensions of consciousness throughout the night.

Remember, this journey is learnable by many, though the level of success may vary. You can be one of them! Take the first step and sign up.

Frequently asked questions

Am I guaranteed to have a lucid dream in this program?

Results are not guaranteed by this program and will vary from person to person.

Of the 38 respondents who have given data in previous 6-week workshops, 86% had one or more lucid dreams during the program, totaling 196 lucid dreams. 73% of these persons said this is more than their usual rate of lucid dreaming. Note that, at baseline, this group already had a dream recall rate of 4 lucid dreams per year, so overall this is an 1100% increase in lucid dreaming. This is similar to the level of increase we've seen when students attend a week-long intensive retreat on lucid dreaming.

Individual factors will likely play a role in your success at lucid dreaming during this training. If you have concerns whether this program is right for you, contact Kristen to discuss.
